Privacy Policy

Data we collect

None. Vela has no account system, no sign-in, no user profiles and no server of its own. We do not collect, receive or store your name, email address, your baby's name or date of birth, or any sleep, feed or note entry you make.

Data stored on your device

Everything you log — sleeps, naps, wakings, feeds, notes, plans and the findings computed from them — is written to your device's local storage. Analysis, note tagging and dictation all run on-device. Removing the app removes this data.

iCloud and device backups

If you have enabled iCloud Backup or encrypted device backups, your app data may be included in those backups under your own Apple Account. That backup is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours. We have no access to it.

Analytics, tracking and advertising

Vela contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising identifiers and no third-party trackers. We do not track you across apps or websites, so no App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown. Our App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".

Permissions the app may request

• Microphone / speech recognition — only if you use dictation for notes. Recognition is performed on-device.
• Notifications — only if you ask for reminders. Notifications are scheduled locally.
• Apple Watch connectivity — to sync your log between watch and phone over Apple's local device link.

Each permission can be refused or revoked in iOS Settings without breaking the app.

Children's privacy

Vela is intended for use by parents and carers aged 18 or over. It is not directed at children. Because no data leaves the device, no information about a child is transmitted to us or to anyone else. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by collecting nothing.

Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA)

Rights of access, correction, deletion, portability and objection apply to data a company holds about you. We hold none. You can view, edit, export and delete all of your data directly inside the app at any time, and deleting the app erases it.

Purchases

Any purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple provides us only anonymised, aggregated sales reporting.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes. Questions: hello@vela-app.example.
